countries in the world to be adopting English language major in their country.
Therefore most of people, learn english so that understand what people talking
about in the world.
But why English ?
Why not Indonesian, Japanese or Dutch.
Seen from history,
from ancient Roman times we understand their language that can unite us. It is
called "Lingua Franca".
In its history
"Lingua Franca" always changing every era, as well as English.
English has a long history to this day English became a "Lingua
Franca". Actually, there are two factors that make the English to be s
"Lingua Franca" until now. And the two factors are:
1. English
Colonization Factor
After the
industrial revolution in English and French, the British Empire grew into the
country by military force and the most advanced technology in the world.This
causes the English colonies had the most and the language used by all the
colonies.
2.Commercialization
Factor
In the 20th century
one of the countries that use English is the main language in their country,
namely the United States, the country with the strongest economy in the world.
So that the strength of the US economy is very large force other countries in
the world using the dollar and communicate in English.
Finally, globalization also strengthen the position of English become the international language. In the era of globalization, many companies and foreign media belonging to the United States established its office in another country. As a result, many people learn English in order to be received at the company. And of course, promising a salary large enough. Besides broadcasting the English that we often hear lead us familiar with the English.
Interestingly,
English will become the international language predicted for decades to come.
By 2050 India is predicted to become the country with the largest population in
the world to beat China. Where until now India makes Hindi and English as the
official language of their country.
Finally, we , who are not learning English yet,will think back to learn it. Because in the future
we will refer to bakso as a meatballs instead of bakso again.
